According to sources, Arun Ojha of Naugaon in Jagatsinghpur, a businessman in the capital received, received a text message on Saturday that Rs 8 lakh had been credited to his bank account.
Since Arun was not expecting such a huge amount from any source, he verified from the bank about the deposit. His bank confirmed the credited amount and said it was deposited from a branch of HDFC Bank in Uttar Pradesh.
“Usually my customers deposit Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh and hence I was taken by surprise on finding such a huge sum deposited in my account. In doubt, I called my clients to verify but all denied to have sent the money,” TNIE quoted Arun as saying.
