Puri: A woman was saved from drowning in sea, here, while she was allegedly attempting to commit suicide due to prompt action by life guard and Fire personnel on Tuesday.
According to sources, the 44-year-old woman, identified as Urmila Rout, a resident of Chakeisiani in Bhubaneswar, went inside the sea reportedly trying the commit suicide. As she was drowning in deep waters, a life guard and a personnel from Fire Services standing on sea shore saw her.
Both of them jumped into rough sea, rescued Urmial and brought her to the shore. Later, she was admitted to local hospital and her condition was stated to be normal.
It has not been ascertained why she took the extreme step of ending her life.
