Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital saw a sharp drop in daily COVID-19 cases with 592 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
On June 4, Bhubaneswar had registered 753 new infections and 898 the day before. On June 2, the number was 918.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 110 are from quarantine and 482 local contact cases.
The highest of 31 cases have been reported from Patia, followed by Nayapalli (28), Jharpada (27), Khandagiri (23), Dumduma (20), Patrapada and Old Town (17), Badagada (15), Chandrasekharpur (13), Niladri Vihar and Unit-8 (11 each).
The last 24 hours also saw 1,255 patients getting cured of the disease.
With this, Bhubaneswar now has 9,465 active cases.
The city also saw three more deaths during this period, which took the toll to 351.
