Bhubaneswar: Recent floods have caused huge damage in Odisha, affecting as many as 24 of the 30 districts.
As the state machinery pulled out all stops to help people in distress, several other organizations, entities and individuals came forward to provide relief.
SAI International did its bit as well, donating items of necessity to victims of flooded areas in Goap block of Puri district.
Students of SAI International helped out as the institution donated biscuits, chhatua powder, sugar, chuda mixture, mudhi, candles, match boxes, mosquito repellent coils, sticks, sprays and sanitary pads.
The items were given to the people of Nothapur, Mahisahi, Sankhitra villages in Kuanpada panchayat and Itakuda, Olandi, Davara Gunia, Sankhatira, Harijana Sahi and Orauli villages of Davara panchayat under Goap block.
All the items were sanitized and sealed before being sent for distribution.
“It is the duty of each citizen to come forward to help the one in despair. And children need to understand such acts of kindness through activities like these to grow up as empathetic ones. We inculcate empathy and kindness by making our SAIoneers understand the pain of the ones in need,” said SAI International Education Group Chairperson Dr Silpi Sahoo.
