Nuapada: A bike rider reportedly died after falling 50 feet into a gorge on a ghat road in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Friday.
According to sources, the mishap took place when the victim, identified as Ranjit Behera of Khagasa village under Kantabanji police station in Balangir district, was returning home on his motorcycle from Patadaraha village under Boden police station in Nuapada district.
While Ranjit was coming on the ghat road of Patadaraha, he reportedly lost control over the bike which was on high speed. As a result, Ranjit along with the bike fell 50 feet into the gorge and he died on the spot.
Some local people going on the road saw the incident and informed the police. A team from Boden police station along with Fire services personnel went to the spot and recovered Ranjit’s body from the deep valley.
The police have informed his family and sent the body for post-mortem. They have registered a case and started investigation.
