Kendrapara: After Jagatsinghpur district, people in Odisha’s Kendrapara district are in a state of panic following death of some crows in Pattamundai and Bhitarkanika areas.
After receiving reports on the death of three crows near Bhitarkanika National Park area, a team of veterinary doctors led by Chief District Veterinary Officer (CDVO) Dr Santanu Takri visited the area and collected the excreta samples of 20 country and migratory birds from Bagagahana and Mathadia areas inside the park.
The team also visited Dangamala and Khamara Sahi villages adjacent to the Park area and collected excreta and swab samples of 10 country hen. The team also collected sample waters from two ponds of these two villages. The collected samples were later sent to the Animal Disease Research Institute (ADRI) at Phulanakhara in Cuttack for test.
On Monday, the team had visited 16 villages of Mahakalapada Block and collected blood samples of hen, ducks and other domestic birds for test.
Besides, carcasses of three crows were found on Rajnagar-Pattamkundai road near Chandan Nagar of Pattamundai Block in the evening on Monday.
