‘BJB Friends’ Felicitates Acting Chief Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi Of Orissa HC & Advocate General Ashok Parija

Bhubaneswar: ‘BJB Friends’, a students’ association of BJB Autonomous College in Bhubaneswar, felicitated Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi, Acting Chief Justice of Orissa High Court and Ashok Parija, Advocate General of Odisha at its reunion function on Sunday.

As part of the function, the members of the BJB Friends took out a torch procession from Barunei Hills to the BJB College. Then they paid floral tributes to Baxi Jagabandhu and Mahatma Gandhi on the college premises.

The function started with president of BJB Friends Debasis Patnaik delivering the welcome address. Secretary of the association Satyabrat Dhupal presented the annual report.

Acting Chief Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi and Advocate General Ashok Parija, who are former students of the prestigious college, were felicitated for stupendous achievement in their career.

The meritorious students, who secured the highest marks in arts, science and commerce streams of BJB College this year, were also felicitated while Vishal Parija was presented a special trophy for his all-rounder performance.

Similarly, the meritorious contestants of the quiz competition organized on December 2 were also felicitated. Souvenir 2023 of the association was unveiled on the occasion and various cultural programmes were also organised.

Among other alumni of the college, Ashok Chandra Panda, Science and Technology Minister; Amar Patnaik, Rajya Sabha member; Harun Rashid Khan, former Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India; Bibhuti Bhusan Singh Mardaraj, former Odisha Assembly Deputy Speaker attended the function.

Vice-president of BJB Friends Raj Kishore Chowdhury, Shyamsundar Patnaik, Kedar Patnaik, senior lawyers Manoj Mishra, and Sivananda Roy, Ashok Patnaik, Chitra Kanungo, Siddharth Shekhar Singh, Subhadarsini Mishra, Cini Mohanty, Pinky Pradhan and many old students were present.
