Bhubaneswar: The state’s ruling BJD led by Naveen Patnaik is going to celebrate the party’s 25th Foundation Day on December 26.
The party was founded by Naveen Patnaik on this day in 1997 in the name of his father and doyen of Odisha politics former CM Biju Patnaik.
The party will celebrate the day this year in over 300 blocks across all districts of the state in the presence of the elected representatives and members of youth, student and women wings of the party. The CM will address party workers and supporters via virtual mode between 4.30 and 5 pm on the day.
“Programmes will be held in close to 400 places in the state together on the same day and at the same time and we all will listen to the CM’s message in the evening,” MLA Pranab Balabantaray said.
School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das said, “The party workers will take forward the mission of the party on the guidelines of the CM and the party leaders.”
It is believed that the BJD will also launch its election campaign for the upcoming panchayat and later the civic body elections and reach from door to door to highlight the achievements of the state government as well as point out the step-motherly treatment meted out by the Centre. The BJD’s women’s wing is gearing up to lead the campaign.
Naveen has asked the party leaders to dedicate themselves to the service of the people and gain their confidence. He asked them to get closer to the people to know their problems and serve them in a better way.
“BJD has fought for the people of Odisha, at every front and it will continue to serve the people of the state. The party will observe the day extensively at the Panchayat, Block, and district levels and necessary directions have been given to the party functionaries,” he said.
