Bhubaneswar: Rajya Sabha member from BJD Sasmit Patra has been appointed to the Parliamentary Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Coal & Mines.
Previously, he was on the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Law and Justice. “Consequently, Dr Sasmit Patra ceases to be a regular member of Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Law and Justice,” the official notification said.
Sasmit is the BJD’s leader in the Upper House of the Parliament. He was elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha on June 3 and began his second term in the upper house on July 18.
