Balangir: A forged letter pad of a Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP was allegedly used for seeking admission to Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV) in Balangir district.
According to sources, BJD MP Niranjan Bishi’s letter pad was allegedly forged to send a recommendation for admission to an OAV.
It was claimed that one Bipin Kusulia had approached the MP for his recommendation for admission for his daughter in Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya. However, the admission was given to a different student of Patnagarh.
Suspicious over the development, Bipin sought information from the authorities under the RTI and it was found that the MP’s letter pad had been forged. Recommendation had been issued in favour of the other student.
Surprisingly, the MP’s letter pad reportedly does not have his signature or date. Following the development, questions are now being raised as to how the authorities concerned including the District Education Officer (DEO) failed to detect the alleged forgery during scrutiny.
Bipin told media that he brought the matter to the notice of the MP after realising that a forged recommendation letter had been used.
Stating that the matter would be investigated, the MP said appropriate action would be taken If any form of forgery is detected after a thorough probe.
