New Delhi: It’s an ‘epic drama’ in the making. BJP MPs and Bollywood actors will come together to stage ‘Ayodhya ki Ramlila’.
The Ramlila will be staged at Lakshman Quila, which is barely two km from where the Ram temple is being built. It will also be aired on satellite TV channels as well as OTT channels between October 6 and 15.
BJP MP from North East Delhi Manoj Tiwari will essay multiple roles while the party’s Gorakhpur MP and Bhojpuri actor, Ravi Kishan, will play Parashuram. Bollywood actor Asrani will be Narad and Shakti Kapoor will play the part of Ahiravan.
Vindu Dara Singh will return to his familiar character from TV to play Hanuman, while Raza Murad will essay the role of Kumbhakarn.
However, the identity of the actor playing Ram is under wraps. Shweta Gupta will be Sita except for the Swayamvar scene, when the role will be taken up by Bhagyasree.
Ayodhya ki Ramlila was held for the first time in 2020, under strict COVID-19 guidelines. The curbs will continue this time too. “No audience will be present this time either. Last year. more than 16 crore people had watched the live streaming of Ayodhya ki Ramlila from the safety of their homes,” the play’s creative director, Subhash Malik, was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.
