Bhubaneswar: Voicing optimism about a spectacular performance in the upcoming elections in Odisha, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday claimed that the saffron party will form the government in the state this time.

This was stated by BJP’s election in-charge for Odisha Vijaypal Singh Tomar soon after his arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar.

Speaking to reporters at the airport, Tomar claimed that Odisha is all set to witness a double-engine government after the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

The senior BJP leader claimed that BJP is all set to win mire than 80 of the 147 Assembly seats in the state in the coming elections to secure a clear majority for forming government.

Similarly, BJP candidate will emerge victorious in at least 16 out of the total 21 Lok Sabha constituencies in Odisha, he claimed.

To a query on talks about an understanding between BJP and the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Tomar said that both the political parties are going to fight in the upcoming elections. Though BJD has given supported the BJP government at the Centre on several issues in Parliament, it does not mean that the two parties are friends.

For that matter, former Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao had also supported the BJP on several issues, he said, adding that other leaders are supporting the Narendra Modi government on the basis of issues, but all of them are not our friends.
