New Delhi: With victory only hours away, the BJP, which is poised to form the government in three of the four states that went to the polls, has grand victory plans for Sunday evening with the focal of the celebration being: “Modi’s guarantee”.
The Delhi BJP is organising the event scheduled to begin around 6 pm, The Indian Express reported quoting party sources. The highlight is a 500-metre-long road show led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, followed by an address. A “significant” chunk of the gathering will comprise women.
“The event will be organised around the theme: ‘Desh Mein Ek hi Guarantee Chalti Hai – Modi ki Guarantee. Thousands of supporters will be women to symbolise, the party’s gratitude to female voters who have played a major role in the party’s victory in the three states,” a senior party leader was quoted as saying.
Messages to mobilise party workers from across the capital to reach the BJP headquarters at DDU Marg were sent by the party’s state leadership as early as 10 am, when trends for Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh and Rajasthan showed the party comfortably ahead of its competition.
A senior party leader said the party was hopeful of mobilising an estimated 10,000 party workers in all – of which around 5,000 to 6,000 would be from the capital and the rest from outside – for victory celebrations which will conclude with the PM addressing the gathering.
