Berhampur: In a bid to promote donation of blood which plays a critical role during the present COVID-19 pandemic, Berhampur MLA Bikram Kumar Panda on Saturday came forward to donate blood at a camp.
Being in-charge of the “Odisha Mo-Parivar” initiative that is intended to encourage blood donation as well as environmental protection and the welfare of Odias in distress, Bikram appealed to the people to donate blood.
He stressed the urgency as the stock in MKCG Medical College and Hospital Blood Bank is fast depleting. The camp, organised by the Blood Bank, will continue till there is an improvement in the stock, he said.
Earlier, chief minister Naveen Patnaik had also appealed to the people to voluntarily donate blood.
