Bhubaneswar: Amid sharp rise in COVID-19 cases in the state, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday declared five residential plots in the city as containment zones.
The BMC announced plot no. 1499/A near Sai Temple in Acharya Vihar, 120-B in Satyanagar, 60 in Bapuji Nagar, 1147 in Bishnu Nagar on Tankapani Road and plot no. L3/65, near water tank, Acharya Vihar as containment zones after detection of several COVID positive cases among residents of the plots.
The BMC, in an official order, said in order to prevent spread of COVID from the affected people, it is necessary to make the affected areas as containment zones.
As per the order, people from outside are not allowed to go to the containment zones. The inhabitants of the zones have to strictly stay inside the houses and are not allowed to come out.
The BMC will supply essential items and medical requirements of the residents of the plots which have been declared as containment zones.
