Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) hefty fines on four different establishments including a reputed “Pan Masala” company for unauthorised advertisements.
Continuing its drive against unauthorised advertisements on roads, walls and poles in Bhubaneswar, the BMC’s inspecting officials detected a huge gate put up in Sahidnagar. The gate was installed by Vimal Pan Masala company to advertise its product.
The BMC, in a tweet on its official handle, said it has imposed a penalty of Rs 5 lakh and lodged an FIR against Vimal Pan Masala for unauthorised gate with the advertisement.
Similarly, the civic body imposed a penalty Rs 50,000 each on “Genix Fertility Care”, “Annapurna Tent House” and “Jaydev Academy” for pasting unauthorised posters/banners on walls/poles at different places in the city. It has also filed FIRs against the three establishments.
