Bhubaneswar: In an attempt to reach out to COVID patients and promote awareness about the disease, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched a campaign through public address system.
The BMC in its message speaks about the steps to be followed by the patients in home isolation to prevent the virus from spreading to other members of the family.
In a list of dos and don’ts, the municipal corporation has advised the people to alert it if they suffer from fever for more than three days and should not take medicines on their own. In case of oxygen saturation, they should seek advice of the doctors by calling the helpline number 1929, TOI quoted BMC deputy commissioner Suvendu Sahu as saying.
The message, prepared in conversation mode, further advises against taking steroids and antibiotics without consultation with the doctors.
In the last four days, the daily COVID cases in the city have come down from more than 1,500 to less than 1,000. According to the BMC, there were 925 positive cases on Monday.
