Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday sealed a popular bakery shop, 7th Heaven, in ward no-6 of Patia in Odisha capital.

According to sources, the BMC officials inspected the area this morning as part of its sanitation drive and sealed it after finding poor sanitation practices outside the bakery shop. “The hotel will be allowed to open after cleaning the waste and maintaining proper sanitation around five-metre radius area,” the civic body said.

The BMC has also closed a workshop in the same area due to poor sanitation.

It is pertinent to mention here that a mass cleanliness drive and campaign for garbage lifting began in Ward 6 on Friday. A penalty of Rs 500 is being imposed on domestic and Rs 5,000 for commercial units found littering.

Earlier, Reliance Fresh outlet at Gopabandhu Square and Green Chillyz outlet at Master Canteen Square were sealed over the same issue.
