Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday sealed an outlet of Reliance Fresh in Odisha capital.
As part of its sanitation drive in the wake of rising number of COVID cases in Bhubaneswar, the BMC officials inspected the mall in the morning. On finding poor sanitation practices in the Reliance Fresh outlet at Gopabandhu Square, they sealed it.
The Municipality has directed the authorities of the mall to ensure hygienic and sanitised condition inside the complex and its surrounding within 3 days. After satisfactory improvement in sanitation during the period, the outlet would be reopened, a BMC official said.
Earlier, the BMC had appealed to the malls and shopping complexes to maintain cleanliness within a minimum 5 metre of the establishments. It has directed the establishments to keep dustbins, segregate waste and hand over those to BMC Safai Gadi during collection.
The Municipality had also warned of serious action including closure of the shops and malls for unhygienic practices.
