Bhubaneswar: Here is some great news for residents of the Odisha capital. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will provide oxygen concentrators to COVID patients in home isolation from Monday.
BMC Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Singh announced this on Saturday.
The commissioner informed that the state government has provided 100 oxygen concentrators to the BMC and these will be provided to the patients who are willing to get themselves treated at home.
“The BMC has developed an app through which the patients can book the oxygen concentrators, which will be delivered at their doorstep,” he said.
Singh said some BMC staff have been trained on the use of oxygen concentrators so that they can give a demo to the patients.
On vaccination, the commissioner said that priority will be given to those in the 18-44 age group who are waiting for the second dose. “We will ensure that these people get their second dose in time. The special drive will begin from Monday,” he added.
To expedite the number of COVID tests in Bhubaneswar, Singh said a massive drive will be launched in the big and busy markets very soon.
