Dhenkanal: Bodies of three newborns were found floating in a pond in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Friday, triggering fears among local residents.
According to sources, villagers spotted the three bodies floating in the pond near Indipur village under Dhenkanal Sadar police limits this morning and alerted local police.
A team from Dhenkanal Sadar police station recovered the bodies and seized some pieces of clothes lying near the spot.
It is suspected that staff of some hospital or nursing home in the district headquarters town might have thrown the bodies into the water body late last night.
