Bhadrak: Body of a youth, who had been missing for the past two days, was recovered from a canal near village under Chandbali police limits in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Sukant Das (22) of the village.
According to sources, he had gone out with his friends to play video games on October 13 and went missing around 8 pm. A day later, his family members lodged a complaint with Chanbali police after a nightlong search to locate him. During investigation, police could trace his phone location in and around the village. The mobile phone was later found in an agricultural field.
Villagers found a body floating in the canal, connecting Salandi river, and informed police, which retrieved the body. His family members later identified it as that of Sukant. They also alleged that he was murdered and thrown into the water body.
Police have sent the body for postmortem and initiated an investigation.
