Phulbani: The body of a newborn girl was found in a toilet of the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Odisha’s Kandhamal on Monday.
The identity of the newborn, found in the toilet of the DHH at Phulbani, is yet to be ascertained.
According to sources, sanitation workers spotted the body in the toilet of the Medicine Ward and immediately informed hospital authorities.
The Town Police on being informed reached the hospital, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem.
A case of unnatural death case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
The cause of the newborn’s death will be ascertained from the post-mortem report while CCTV footage is also being checked to nab those involved in the case, police sources told media.
