Bhubaneswar: The highest day temperature in the state touched 44.5 degree Celsius as 9 places recorded 43 degree on Tuesday.
According to the evening bulletin of the India Meteorological Department, as many as 22 places recorded temperature above 40 degree Celsius including 14 places with 42 degree Celsius on the day.
Boudh was the hottest place in Odisha with 44.5 degree Celsius. Balangir, which recorded highest 44 degree on Monday recorded 43.8 degree.
Jharsuguda recorded second highest temperature of 43.9 degree Celsius, followed by Baripada with 43.8, Soneput 43.6, Titlagarh 43.5, Angul 43.1, Sambalpur 43.1 and Sundargarh 43 degree Celsius.
The heat in Bhubaneswar further came down as the city registered 39.6 degree Celsius compared to 40.8 degree on Monday. The Capital City had a sizzling temperature of 43.3 degree on Sunday.
