Rourkela: A class V student went missing after being swept away in the Koel River in Odisha’s Rourkela on Sunday afternoon.
As per preliminary information, three boys had gone to the river for a bath at Hamirpur ghat.
While taking bath, one of them slipped and got swept away by the river current. His friends were also swept deep into the water while trying to help him.
After getting information about the incident, the fire service personnel reached the spot and launched a rescue operation to trace the missing student. While two boys were rescued, one was still missing and search was underway to trace him.
Sources said that OSAP and ODRAF teams have also joined the rescue and search operation.
