Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force of Crime Branch on Tuesday seized a whopping 1.012 kg brown sugar, whose market value is estimated at Rs 1 crore, from Khandagiri in the Odisha capital.
Two persons have been arrested in this connection. They have been identified as Ajay Mohapatra of Chhanagiri under Jankia police limits and Bibhuti Bhusan Jena of Jamusahi under Begunia police limits.
Another person, who was with the duo, managed to escape.
Ajay was earlier booked in a NDPS case in Khurda district, police sources said.
