The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha has released the list of students who had topped the Class-X Board Exam in Odisha from 1957 to 2010. It has 55 toppers. Overall, the Board has 64 toppers, including the 2019 topper.
The Board was established under the Orissa Secondary Education Act 1953 and started functioning in 1955. Sahadeva Sahoo was the first Class-X Board exam topper in the state. The 1941-born Sahoo from Purusottampur High School, topped the Matric Exam in 1957 with 576 marks.

The list carries, besides the candidate’s name, other details like the year of passing, roll number, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth and marks secured. The list of toppers is available on BSE Odisha’s website: www.bseodisha.nic.in.
With this thoughtful gesture, the board wants to recognise its meritorious students. “I took it up mainly for corrections as per permanent records with BSE to give the toppers the satisfaction they deserve. Putting it up on the website will give everyone a chance to see and confirm,” president of Board of Secondary Education Odisha, Dr Jahan Ara Begum told a news portal.
