Malkangiri: The BSF personnel have recovered huge amount of arms from a Maoist dump during a search operation in Odisha’s Malkangiri district.
According to a release of BSF’s headquarters in Malkangiri, on the basis of specific information on Monday, the BSF troops carried out an operation in the general area of Gomphakonda Reserve Forest. During search in the targeted area, the troops located an old Maoist dump near Marigetta village under Kalimela police limits in the district.

The BSF said this area used to be highly dominated by Maoists and their sympathisers. The Maoist outfits would keep IED making materials in isolated and secluded places to prepare IEDs to be used against the security forces and police operating in these areas.
BSF is actively operating in Malkangiri district and extensively dominating the area. In the wake of recovery, further combing and search operations would continue to make the area safe, they added.
