Keonjhar: Armed burglars allegedly broke into the house of jeweller at Tukuna village in Odisha’s Keonjhar district and looted gold and silver ornaments worth over Rs 15 lakh at gunpoint late on Tuesday.
According to sources, six robbers entered the house of Pabitra Das, the jeweller, by opening a window grill and threatened him, his wife and son with guns and knives. They also forced the family to serve them tea and consumed sweets kept in the house, before decamping with around 200 grams of gold ornaments, more than 7 kg of silver ornaments and a LED TV.
On being informed, police reached the village this morning and initiated an investigation.
