Nashik: At least five people were severely injured when a truck ferrying 53 migrant workers back to Odisha overturned at a highway near Nashik in Maharashtra on Thursday.
The injured were taken to Nashik Government Hospital. Their identities are yet to be ascertained.
According to reports, the accident occurred on Ghoti-Sinnar highway. The truck driver managed to escape from the spot, but locals caught the cleaner and handed him over to police.
According to police, the stranded labourers were charged Rs 4,000 each for ferrying them back to Odisha in the truck.
