Cuttack: Police on Sunday seized a bus from Choudwar of the district for allegedly using fake registration numbers.
According to sources, the police action followed a complaint by another bus owner in this regard to Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) and the Regional Transport Officer (RTO).
The complainant alleged that the seized bus used registration numbers of other vehicles for plying the vehicle on different routes and for different purposes.
Some times it was using the number of a motorcyle and on other occasions, that of a car, the complainant said adding that the bus was using 7 different duplicate numbers.
Following the complaint, Cuttack police launched an investigation and seized the bus. They have also detained the driver of the bus.
