Kendrapara: Vehicular movement on Cuttack-Chandbali route was disrupted on Sunday following a blockade at Tinimuhani Chhak in Odisha’s Kendrapara town in protest against firing on a businessman the previous night.
The victim, identified as Tinimuhani Bazaar Committee President Bibekanand Moharana (45), sustained critical injuries after allegedly being shot at by two unidentified miscreants near Dandamunda in Gulnagar while he was returning home.
He was rushed to the district headquarters hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.
The incident is suspected to be the fallout of business rivalry. Police have launched a probe and efforts are on to nab the accused.
