Bargarh: Two days after seizure of Rs 40.50 lakh from a car at Mahulapali Chhack in Bargarh district, a similar incident was reported on Monday, when cash to the tune of Rs 10 lakh was recovered from the dickey of a motorcycle at Barpalli of the district.
A person was detained in connection with the seizure as it is suspected that the money was meant for distribution among voters ahead of Bijepur by-poll to lure them to vote for a particular political party, police sources informed.
Earlier on February 14, an amount of Rs 3.20 lakh was also seized from two cars during police checking at Talpali Chhack in the district. While Rs 2.5 lakh was seized from one car, Rs 70, 000 was recovered from the other.
