Cuttack: The state Crime Branch (CB) is all set to launch the third edition of Operation Muskaan from Saturday to rescue missing children within and outside Odisha. The drive will continue till August 13.
“A least eight teams have been formed to trace children trafficked to other states and rehabilitate them. In the
first phase, rescue operations will be carried out within the state. The focus will shift to other parts of the country in the second phase (July 31 to August 13),” Crime Branch special DG BK Sharma informed at a high-level meeting on Friday.
The drive will be conducted in coordination with the women and child development department, he added.
The Crime Branch had successfully traced 1,620 missing children within the state and rehabilitated 193 among them during Operation Muskaan-2 last year, sources said.
