Jagatsinghpur: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended a health officer of Paradip port in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur on corruption charge.
According to sources, CBI sleuths conducted a raid on the Paradip Health Organisation (PHO) at Bhuiyan Square in the town on Thursday. During the raid, they nabbed health officer Rajendra Narayan Panigrahi while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.
Panigrahi had demanded the bribe from a crew member of a ship to issue COVID clearance certificate. The CBI raid was also going on the official quarters of Panigrahi in the port town and his paternal house in Balasore, the sources said.
