Hyderabad: The untimely demise of veteran Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad’s daughter Gayathri has cast a pall of gloom.
Celebrities from the film industry and other spheres rushed to Rajendra’s residence to offer their heartfelt condolence.
Among industry bigwigs, superstar Chiranjeevi and his wife Surekha, ‘Pushpa’ star Allu Arjun and Venkatesh Daggubati were spotted at Rajendra’s place.
Some others who couldn’t meet Rajendra in person took to their social media handles to express their thoughts and prayers.
Actor Nani posted, “Deepest condolences to Rajendra Prasad gaaru and his family. This is heartbreaking (sic).”
Jr NTR wrote, “The death of Rajendra Prasad’s daughter Gayatri, who was very dear to me, is very sad. I pray that their souls rest in peace. My deepest condolences to Rajendra Prasad and his family (sic).”
Actor Navdeep said, “Deeply saddened by the loss of your beloved daughter Gayatri, #RajendraPrasad Garu. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family during this unimaginably difficult time. May her soul rest in peace.”
Gayathri, 38, complained of chest pain on Friday night, following which she was rushed to AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad.
Doctors had started treatment, but Gayatri suffered a massive cardiac arrest a few hours later and passed away. Rajendra was learnt to be busy shooting for a film when he was told about Gayathri’s hospitalisation, and rushed there.
Gayathri is survived by her husband and daughter.
