Koraput: Central University of Odisha (CUO) Koraput has decided to reopen its campus for research scholars and PG and UG students in the second week of September in a phased manner.
The first phase will see research scholars return to campus on September 13. PG and UG students of 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th semesters will be allowed to be back on September 20 with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocol.
The hostel will be opened for research scholars and PG/UG students on the respective dates.
“It is heartening that students are returning to the campus after one-and-a-half year. Students are the body and soul of any academic institution. Their health issues are of utmost importance. Simultaneously, their career and academics are of equal importance. CUO will do its best to provide academics maintaining all COVID-19 protocols,” said Sharat Kumar Palita, Vice-Chancellor in charge of the university.
The university has urged outstation research scholars and students to get the second dose of the COVID vaccine and produce certificates or latest RT-PCR negative test report issued in the last three days of arrival at the hostel.
The vaccination certificate or test report has to be produced at the main entrance of the campus.
All boarders will have to undergo a mandatory seven-day quarantine period in their allotted rooms in the hostel on single occupancy basis. The students will have to bring mask, sanitizer, Aadhar card, identity card and other essentials. A notice will be sent to all research scholars and PG/UG students returning to the campus.
The students will also have to produce parents’ declaration form. The form has to be downloaded from the University’s website and then parents’ signature has to be obtained.
