Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday issued the official notification for morning schools from April 2 in view of the prevailing heatwave conditions in the state.
This is applicable to all government and private schools, the notification added.
On Wednesday, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Dash said that the opening timings are being rescheduled amid a steady rise in temperature owing to the sweeping heatwave. “The heatwave condition has forced us to revise the school timings so that the students face minimum heat during school hours,” he said.
Notably, physical classes for students from Class VIII to XII, along with colleges, universities and other technical institutions had resumed on February 7 while schools welcomed back students of KG to Class VII after a gap of almost 2 years on February 14.
