Bhadrak: At least five to six bike-borne miscreants looted a chemist shop at gunpoint at RD Square at Aradi in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Wednesday night.
According to sources, the gang allegedly barged into Manavjyoti Medical Store and fired at the chemist, but missed the target. But it was enough to trigger terror among other shop owners and people in the vicinity.
They then decamped with Rs 20,000 in cash and three mobile phones.
“There were about five to six miscreants. They came to my shop on two motorcycles around 10 pm and demanded money and mobile phones. When I refused, they fired at my leg. Fortunately, the bullet went past me. They snatched the cash and mobile phones and fled towards Bhadrak town,” the shop owner said.
Bhadrak Rural police station IIC Alok Jena reached the spot and started an investigation. The CCTV footage is being checked to trace the miscreants, the sources added.
