Bhubaneswar: A group of tourists from Chhattisgarh and Safari employees came to blows at the Nandankanan zoo near Bhubaneswar in Odisha, leaving several people injured from both sides.
Both sides have filed separate FIRs.
The clash took place between Safari staff and a group of 27 tourists from Chhattisgarh.
The tourists alleged that the staff refused to take them on the popular Safari ride although they had booked tickets. This led to a heated exchange of words between both sides. When they protested, the Safari staff beat them up, the tourists alleged.
After the tourists filed an FIR, the Safari staff filed a counter FIR, in which the zoo staff alleged that the tourists created a ruckus after they were refused tickets as it was closing time for the tiger Safari ride. They also entered the office and started shouting at them, the zoo staff alleged.
