Bhubaneswar: Chilika MLA Prashant Jagadev, who was arrested for allegedly ploughing his SUV into a crowd earlier this month, was shifted to Capital Hospital here after he complained of illness on Monday night.
Till the filing of this report, he was undergoing treatment at the hospital.
He had been in Banapur Sub-Jail since March 22, when he was arrested after being discharged from a hospital and produced in the Court of JMFC, Banapur, which rejected his bail plea and remanded him to judicial custody.
The MLA had sustained grievous injuries as an irate mob assaulted him soon after he rammed his car into the crowd outside a block development office in Odisha’s Khurda district, which was a grim reminder of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. He was then admitted to a private hospital here.
