New Delhi: China’s mouthpiece media Global Times editor Hu Xijin took a swipe at India and suggested that India should ‘curb its swelling nationalism’ which, according to him, has affected India’s attitude towards the neighbouring country.
While expressing his admiration for Rabindranath Tagore’s poems and Bollywood films, the Gobal Times editor admitted India’s impressive show at the global stage. However, he said that India’s growing nationalism and attitude towards China had ‘gone wrong’.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited India’s military base in Ladakh’s Nimu amid rising border tension between the two countries. Hu Xijin had then issued a rattled response asking Modi to inform the Indian troops that the PLA was “stronger than them.”
Meanwhile, Modi took a dig at China saying era of expansionism is over, before meeting the soldiers injured in Galwan clashes. Jawas are admitted to Leh’s Army hospital.
