Bhubaneswar: Two persons had a narrow escape when the car in which they were travelling caught fire at Nalco Square here on Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, the driver Bholanath Pradhan while heading towards Jaydev Vihar saw smoke billowing from the car’s bonnet. The occupants immediately got out of the car, which then went up in flames.
The vehicle was owned by Bhaskar Chandra Rana of Ranapur in Nayagarh district. He along with his driver had come to Bhubaneswar for some work.
The vehicle was completely gutted. The incident disrupted traffic along the stretch for more than 30 minutes.
Police and fire personnel arrived at the spot and launched an inquiry to ascertain the exact cause of the mishap.
