Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday handed over appointment letters to 145 newly-recruited Odisha Civil Service (OCS) officers at Jaydev Bhawan here.
Inaugurating an orientation programme for the newly-recruited state civil service officers here, the Chief Minister said, “My congratulations to all of you and I welcome you to the mainstream of the state administration.”
“I am happy that recruitment to the state civil services has been streamlined and is being conducted regularly inducting fresh and skilled young people at the base level of administration, which would boost the public delivery mechanism. The Odisha government has always accorded highest priority to the public delivery system and through sincere efforts during these years, a stable and responsive administrative framework has been put in place in the state, which you would be required to carry forward,” the CM said while addressing the newly-recruited officers.
The focus of the state administration has been to bring improvement in the quality of life of the people through an effective, conducive and transparent system of governance. Encouraging team spirit, ensuring transparency and effectively using technology to provide last mile delivery of services to people has been the talisman of our administrative system. Therefore, maintaining faith and confidence of our people is quite essential and immense importance. To achieve this, all of the newly recruited civil service officers need to work with determination, dedication and devotion to address problems of common people ensuring their faith in our delivery system, Naveen added.
