Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a 50-seat
hostel ‘Asima’ for differently-abled girl students on the premises of
Rama Devi Women’s University here on Sunday on the occasion of the 3rd
foundation day of the varsity.
Construction work of the hostel started last year with an
estimated cost of Rs 1 crore.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a skill development centre and a library for persons with disabilities at Pokhariput here in the presence of minister for social security and empowerment of persons with disabilities Prafulla Samal, minister for tourism and culture Ashok Chandra Panda and senior government officers.
The Chief Minister said, “Differently abled people really have a great potential
and have been achieving a lot and doing well in different sectors.
They should be encouraged by everyone.”
