Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Budget presentation in the first session of 17th Odisha Assembly, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to chair a crucial Cabinet meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan in Odisha capital on Wednesday evening.
The meeting, which will be the third for the BJP government, will be held at 8.30 pm.
Several important proposals, including modalities for Subhadra Yojana and MSP for paddy, may get the Cabinet nod. The meeting may also discuss appointment of Lokayukta, whose tenuring is ending this August, sources said.
The CM, who holds Home, Finance and several other portfolios, will present the state budget for 2024-25 in the Assembly on Thursday.
Notably, nine proposals were passed in the last two Cabinet meetings. These include special corpus fund of Rs 200 crore for a bouquet of initiatives to restore and promote ‘Odisa Asmita’, appointment of 18, 788 junior teachers, increase in daily wages, and proposal for international recognition for Cuttack’s Bali Jatra.
