Cuttack: As part of its clean drive, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has opened a Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (RRR) centre at its office.
The RRR centre aims at collecting the used and waste materials from the people and recycling it for further use. It has been opened keeping the World Environment Day on June 5 in view. The municipality has asked the residents of the city to deposit their surplus, unused or waste materials at the RRR centre.
Inaugurating the RRR centre at Bikash Bhawan, the CMC office, on Thursday, CMC Commissioner Nikhil Pavan Kalyan said, “People can deposit plastic items and used clothes, footwear and toys at the RRR centre. We will hand over the items to different stakeholders. Some of these items will be reused while others may be recycled to create new products,”
The CMC plans to open the RRR centres across the city to collect the materials from the people.
