Bhubaneswar: Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi on Friday convened a meeting with senior mines officials here.
At the meeting, Joshi reviewed the progress made in the auction of mineral blocks in the state and directed that the allocation process should be expedited.
Minister of State for Railways, Coal & Mines Raosaheb Patil Danve and Odisha’s Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik were present at the meeting.
Joshi and Danve are on a three-day visit to the state. They arrived here on Wednesday.
The visit comes amid an acute shortage of coal in power plants of the country.
