New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday raided six locations in West Bengal, including the home of state Law Minister Moloy Ghatak, in connection with the coal smuggling case.
Since Moloy Ghatak failed to appear before the central probe agency despite being summoned several times, a CBI team reached the residence of Moloy Ghatak but he was not present there at the time, India Today reported.
The CBI is carrying out the raids at five locations in Kolkata and one in Asansol. Moloy Ghatak, an MLA from Asansol Uttar, has appeared once before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at its Delhi office for questioning in connection with the coal scam case.
However, he has skipped several other summons issued by the ED in connection with the case.
