Coffee Table Book On Bargarh Dhanu Jatra Released

Bargarh/Bhubaneswar: A colourful coffee table book titled ‘Kansa Maharaja-The Hero of Bargarh Dhanu Jatra’ was released on the grand stage of Bargarh Dhanu Jatra.

This innovative publication was released by Maharaja Kansa himself on the tenth day of this historic festival on Sunday.

Minister for Odia Language, Literature, Culture and Tourism, Ashok Chandra Panda, who was also present, stressed that the book will provide wider facts about Odisha’s unique culture to readers worldwide. It will also proliferate tourism potential for Odisha, he added. This unique publication has framed seven years of the glorious heritage of Dhanu Jatra for the benefit of non-Odia readers and researchers.

Maharaja Kansa has said, “This illustrated book in English will be very useful in educating the people worldwide on the significance of Dhanu Jatra. Everyone should purchase the book and expand their knowledge on this epic festival.”

Chairperson of Western Odisha Development Council, Kishor Mohanty, MLA Debesh Acharya, Collector and president of the Festival Committee Indramani Tripathy, Secretary Sureswar Satapathy, Northern Range DIG Satyabrata Bhoi, CEO and Chief Editor of OdishaLIVE, Nilambar Rath and Director Pranati Parida were present, among others.
The coffee table book will be available at Modern Book Depot, Master Canteen, Bhubaneswar. Interested readers can also procure it at the OdishaLIVE office at Samanta Vihar, Nalco Square, Bhubaneswar.
